MP27B 12N 1.5m Pre-Wired Socket Assembly With Mounting Plate

• 7 Pin ‘N’ type pre-wired socket assembly complete with 1.5m cable, flexible gasket and mounting plate

Instructions

1. Position the mounting plate between the tow ball and vehicle towing bracket
2. Locate a convenient connection point in the vehicle wiring harness near a rear lamp cluster
3. If access for the socket cables is not provided, drill suitable holes in the vehicle bodywork. Take care not to damage wired, pipes, fuel tank etc. Remove any sharp edges from the holes with a file, treat with rust inhibitor and fit suitable grommets.
4. Enter the 7 core cable and strip off the outer cover as necessary, connecting into the wiring harness using the following code;

Pin 3                     White                   Earth Return

Pin 4                     Green                  R/H Direction Indicator

Pin 5                     Brown                 R/H Tail & No. Plate Lamp

Pin 6                     Red                       Stop Lamps

Pin 7                     Black                   L/H Tail & No. Plate Lamp

5. Always test vehicle and trailer lights before towing.

Warning

1. Number plate lamps on the trailer should be wired to avoid a common connection between pins 5 & 7 of the 12N socket
2. For vehicles fitted with sophisticated electronics to monitor or to switch their road lights, it is strongly recommended that a multi-function by-pass relay (MP3877) or the vehicle manufacturers towing electrics module should be used when making these connections. If in doubt consult an auto electrician or tow bar fitter.
